I would use only built-in Defender which assures best performance of Windows with the least issues, and is from Microsoft who knows how to protect their OS best.Īfter this run System File Checker and DISM from Step 10 in this checklist: Type Security in Search to open it and make sure Defender is now on. I would uninstall it in Settings > Apps > Apps & Features then run Avast Clear to get it all out. Likewise no one recommends Avast since it bloated up and started causing issues about ten years ago. Especially if you ran the dangerous Registry Cleaner, see if you can System Restore to a point before you ran it. No expert any longer recommends CCleaner after it was bought by Avast bloatware (which also stopped being recommended 9 years ago) and lost their genius developer. Workstation Host OS: Windows 10 Enterprise - Version 1709 - build 16299.309 The environment I am running is as follows: I need a fix for this as I use vmware Workstation for product demonstration development and offline product demonstrations. I gather from many of the posts I have seen that many folks are having similar issues. The mouse actions do not stay in the guest, the mouse pointer is jerky, and your cannot reposition a window or highlight anything using a swipe of the mouse pointer. When this is done, I get the same behavior as if I was in Automatic. When this is done, I can click in the guest once and then the mouse pointer relocates to the bottom right hand corner and remains unmovable.

I have tried several of the posted issues including setting the "Optimize mouse for" setting from Automatic to Always. The mouse movements are jerky, in the wrong position, does not move smoothly in the guest session, and you cannot use any of the mouse window reposition and highlighting capabilities.

This happens regardless of full screen or in console view. Any mouse movement when in the guest session does not stay engaged and is not tracking to position. I have it installed on Windows 10 and am running Windows 7 & Red Hat Linux Server 7.5 guests.
